Bill Cosby — Temple trustee, alumnus and devoted fan of the "resurgent" Owls football program — will receive the National Football Foundation's Gold Medal at a dinner in New York on Tuesday. Football has always played a central role in Cosby's life. He played two seasons at Temple, and although his teams won only five games in two years, he learned valuable life lessons. Football, Cosby says, helped him "walk from the dressing room to the stage…[with] no fear — unless I put that fear in myself."
