Olivier, who sometimes explores Caribbean themes in her art, is known for her large-scale work. "I think I was secretly afraid to make small work, doubting I could make it as powerful if it was small," Olivier said. "I really wanted to engage the viewer and thought I might have a better shot at it if I worked larger, using the human body as the gauge."
