Eric Eisenstein, assistant professor at Temple's Fox School of Business, appeared on "Larry Kane's Voice of Reason" to discuss the impact of the lingering recession on retailers this holiday season. "You can buy sales by just discounting even more, but that's not necessarily going to be helpful to retailers," said Eisenstein. "So one of the big things that we've seen, last year in particular, was that people moved inventory, but when they moved the inventory they did it by cutting prices, cutting margins and thereby profits."
