Temple has mapped out a series of projects that aim to achieve several objectives for the school and its North Philadelphia neighborhood without reaching beyond its current 105-acre footprint flanking North Broad Street. The school is hopeful the $1.2 billion development will continue to reinvigorate North Broad and re-establish the artery as the gateway to the campus. Once completed, the plan will create more green area and academic space, develop additional campus housing and link the core of the main campus to North Broad. "We want to make it open, energetic, lit and 24/7," said President Ann Weaver Hart about North Broad, noting: "Temple has become a destination in a way North Philadelphia hasn't been."
