Real estate investors and developers are increasingly viewing North Broad Street between City Hall and Temple as the "next frontier." The emergence of the neighborhood will be aided by a Broad Street "construction boom" at Temple part of the university's Temple 20/20 framework. The story also cited the Pearl Theatre, the Edge at Avenue North and the "thriving" Progress Plaza shopping center. The North Broad Street area "has a lot of potential" said Brian Flanagan, chief of staff for the deputy mayor for economic development, who added that the neighborhood will be important for its role "connecting Center City with areas to the north."
