Michael Vick has reportedly signed a two-year contract — his first paid endorsement — with Kennett Square-based Unequal Technologies, which makes football pads. The Eagles quarterback wore a vest designed by Unequal after missing time with a rib injury. Joe Mahan, an assistant professor at Temple's Sport Industry Research Center, said it would not be a surprise for a company like Unequal to "take the leap" with Vick, because he already is using their products. "They can get wrapped up in the image of Michael Vick," he said. "He got hit a lot. There were questions about whether he was being treated fairly. It was in the news every week. [They can say] we're protecting him."
