A team of four archaeologists Joe Blondino, Carin Boone, Jesse West and Katie Cavallo¬ have spent the past five weeks excavating the yard behind Washington's headquarters in Valley Forge National Park. They have found what could have been the first Oval Office. Last year, the group of Temple graduate students worked to uncover a well near Washington's house. "We don't just dig up the artifacts, wash them and put them in storage," Blondino said. "We have to analyze these things, catalog them and then write a report. Individually they might not tell us that much, but collectively they can tell us a lot."
