In an effort to assemble the most wide-ranging fan-attitude survey done in the region, the Sport Industry Research Center at Temple University partnered with the Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com. The result is "The Philly Fan Project," a four-part series that began Monday. The survey measures everything from favorite sports traditions and venues to favorite players and sports moments. "Philadelphia has a lot of stereotypes about its sports fandom," said Aubrey Kent, the research center's director. "This may help either contextualize or create some new ideas about what sports fans think in Philadelphia."
