Phillies' fans expectations have changed: They now have them. In a survey conducted by the Daily News with Temple's Sport Industry Research Center (SIRC), 74 percent of respondents who categorized themselves as chiefly Phillies' fans said they expected the team to play in the World Series this year. The survey was prepared at the end of August, before the Phillies got on a September hot streak and clinched the National League East. In comparing the August survey with the inaugural Daily News/SIRC survey in March, SIRC Director Aubrey Kent said, "It showed us a picture that we are capturing an underlying attitude and not just a mood that is less stable."
