Researchers not surprised when multi-taskers run into trouble

Recent studies show there's an increase in injuries to young children under the age of five because too many parents are distracted by devices and they're not paying attention to their kids. According to Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, professor of psychology at Temple, most people can't focus on two things at once. "We convince ourselves in this new world order that we are somehow able to just process so many things at once, and what we are learning about the human brain is that it just ain't so," she said.
