SEC allows corporate announcements via social media

The Securities and Exchange Commissions recently decided to allow publicly traded companies to make material corporate announcements on social media. Temple Fox School of Business accounting Professor Steven Balsam said the SEC is also ensuring information is shared fairly and transparently by "requiring companies to disclose that they are going to be disseminating information via social media so people know to look for it or become followers, subscribers, etc."
