To increase the number of city residents with degrees, Temple will award 250 four-year scholarships during the next decade to students who live around its campus. The 20/20 Scholarship Program borrows its name from the university's campus development framework. "The Temple 20/20 framework is designed to position our entire community for success," said President Ann Weaver Hart. "Scholarships for our neighbors are a critical component for that success." Javon Johnson who wants to study nursing said, "This scholarship is going to make a big difference for me, because money in my family is very tight." The Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Charter School graduate has two sisters attending Temple. "This will take some of the stress off me and my family."
