Temple program helps the unemployed quit smoking

People who are out of work face added emotional stress and financial pressures that can make quitting smoking more difficult. A new smoking cessation program at Temple will teach participants how to handle that stress without turning to cigarettes. "People in the program are going to have group counseling, and we'll have two smoking cessation experts who will offer counseling, skills training, support, and problem solving, all around quitting smoking and relapse prevention," said Brad Collins, director of Temple's Health Behavior Research Clinic.
