Innumerable birds crash into windows of urban buildings and die every year in Philadelphia during their spring and fall migrations. Glenn Eck of Temple's Office of Facilities Management has been assisting researchers studying the phenomenon by tracking dead birds found near campus buildings. The Tyler School of Art recently hosted a design contest for students to come up with attractive window decals that repel birds from crashing. Submissions have been installed on the windows of Paley Library to see if they make a difference.
