Temple to train more physicians to care for Pennsylvanians

Temple's School of Medicine and West Penn Allegheny Health System announced that they are establishing a new four-year medical school campus in Pittsburgh. The move will enable Temple and West Penn Allegheny to address a critical shortage of physicians. "By training more Pennsylvania students to become physicians and encouraging that they practice in the state, hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians will benefit from improved access to medical care throughout the Commonwealth," said Temple President Ann Weaver Hart. "We are proud to expand our relationship with WPAHS, an established leader in patient care, education and research," said Larry Kaiser, Temple's senior executive vice president for health sciences, dean of the School of Medicine, and CEO of Temple University Health System.
