The Internet gives people the ability to magnify their voice and also cast a wider net for willing listeners. "It's a global platform that is almost exhilarating to some people," said Temple psychologist Frank Farley. Central Bucks High School teacher Natalie Munroe recently learned how a perceived private online forum can turn into a major public scandal. She was suspended after students found her blog, which included a few profanity-peppered posts about students and school administrators. Farley says the case illustrates the trend toward people becoming more comfortable bringing private thoughts into the public arena without considering the impact on others.
