Temple student Brandon Huber grew a pair of enormous pumpkins this summer. Huber, a blue ribbon winner at the Philadelphia Flower Show and horticulture major at Temple, said genetics was a major factor in his success as well as having the right amount of space. "I started the seed, which was already adapted to local conditions, on April 25, considered a good starting date for this zone," said Huber. "It's based on the weigh-off date. You want the plant to be as fresh as possible."
