Gloria Holmes remembers when her social life was centered around Carpenter Street in Woodbury, where the city’s black residents and businesses were concentrated. Holmes, along with Diane Turner, a Temple historian, has compiled dozens of interviews with elderly members of the town’s black community. Already, some of the original interviewees from the project have died. "So it was important for us to capture their history,” Turner said.
