Temple honors veterans at poignant services

Temple University honored Veterans Day 2010 on November 11 with its Second Annual Veterans Appreciation Day ceremony, held on both Ambler and Main Campuses.

The day’s events were a somber recognition of those among Temple’s students, faculty, staff and alumni who are currently serving in America’s armed forces, and those who have served in the past. Veterans of World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the War in Afghanistan were in attendance, and all branches of the military were represented in the Honor Guard. The day began with an invocation and the singing of the national anthem, which were followed by poignant reflections from the veterans who have served the nation in combat roles.
