Here are the most exciting things to do this month.
You’ve received your syllabi, and the days are getting shorter and chillier; all that’s left to do is fill up that brand new day planner with some cool events. Lucky for you, we’ve got you covered with everything from football to the theater, plus some other fun stuff mixed in to keep it interesting.
Temple’s event calendar has a complete list of events, but here are a few of our favorites happening this month.
Beep beep!
Learn the lay of the land all in one place with Temple’s Transportation Fair. Whether you ride bikes, the subway, the bus, train, none or all of them, this is a great way to learn about resources like discounts for cyclists, how to buy a SEPTA Key and more.
When: Friday, Sept. 6, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Every other Monday: Very mindful, very considerate
What is mindfulness, and how do you practice it? Temple’s Wellness Resource Center hosts sessions every other week to help you learn more about how this vital skill can help you in your daily life. It even ends with a short, guided meditation.
When: Every other Monday starting on Sept. 9, 3 p.m.

Let’s GOOOOOOO Owls!
Football season is finally here! You won’t want to miss cheering on your Temple Owls during their home opener against Coastal Carolina. Don’t forget to wear cherry and white, either at the opener or at any of our home games this month! Student tickets are always free, btw.

Take care at the fair
Self-care takes many forms; it’s a way to prevent stress, but it’s also a way to deal with stress when it arises. Come learn some strategies for self-regulating, find out more about Temple’s self-care resources and connect with fellow students.

Vocal jam
Liven up your lunch hour and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a concert of Hispanic/Latinx vocal music, all performed by Boyer students!

Make your voice heard!
It feels like news of the election is everywhere we look, but are YOU registered to vote? Temple Votes is hosting a voting discussion to help you learn about how to register and cast your vote, as well as voter registration booths throughout the next few weeks.

A singular sensation
Temple Theaters is back for the season, and they’re kicking it off with a classic! You have six opportunities to see their production of A Chorus Line; you won’t want to miss this thrilling combination!
