The Department of Criminal Justice warmly welcomes Dr. Lin Liu, who joins the faculty as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Liu holds a PhD in Criminology from the University of Delaware and returns to the northeast after serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida. Her primary research areas include reentry, corrections, juvenile justice, and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in social science research. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles in well-respected journals such as the Journal of Criminal Justice, Health & Justice, Crime & Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behavior, and Justice Quarterly. Her research examining suicide risk of vulnerable youth has been funded by the National Institutes of Health.
