'The Ultimate Cost of War'
|
Longtime peace activist Michael Berg gained national recognition in 2004, following the death of his son Nick in Iraq.
Nick, a telecommunications contractor, was kidnapped and beheaded by an Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group in that country. His father has since traveled the country calling for an end to the war in Iraq. On Friday, Feb. 9, Michael Berg will lead a Dissent in America teach-in titled “The Ultimate Cost of War.” The Dissent in America teach-ins are an outgrowth of history professor Ralph Young’s course of the same name. |
Several of Berg’s speeches and articles are featured in Young’s recently published book Dissent in America: The Voices that Shaped a Nation. Where: Gladfelter Hall 764 When: Feb. 9, 3:30–5 p.m.
