Temple professor and filmmaker LeAnn Erickson screens “Top Secret Rosies”
America's love affair with the computer began February 14, 1946 when the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) was unveiled to the public. Jean Bartik applied for a job with ENIAC because she studied math in college but dreaded the idea of teaching schoolchildren. She is featured in the new documentary film, "Top Secret Rosies: The Female Computers of WWII," by LeAnn Erickson, associate professor of film and media arts at Temple. The film, which tells the story of women 'computers' during the war, will be shown on Feb. 22 at the Temple Performing Arts Center.
