Several factors determine who will care for aging parents

As the population continues to age, more and more adult children are faced with the question of who should take care of their aging parents, and the past could have a lot to do with that answer. For example, divorced parents could be left to fend for themselves; a study by Temple researcher and gerontologist Adam Davey found that children of divorce tend to be less involved in the daily care of aging parents, not necessarily because they don't want to, but because they often live far away from each other.
