John Daly, dean of the School of Medicine, received the prestigious Reverend Clarence Shaffrey, S.J. Award from Saint Joseph's University. The award honors Daly's service and achievemenst in the medical profession. He is an internationally renowned surgeon, researcher and scholar and has appeared in over two dozen "best doctors" lists such as "The Best Doctors in Philadelphia," "Best Doctors in America" and the "318 Top Cancer Specialists for Women." Daly also is the editor-in-chief of Contemporary Surgery, editor of Current Surgery, and has been published 368 times, including several books. During his long career, Daly has also been principal investigator in numerous NIH-funded research grants and has served as president for several medical societies, such as the American Society for Paternal and Enteral Nutrition and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
