Safety month programs to help students prepare for on- and off-campus living

As part of National Campus Safety Awareness Month in September, university officials from Community Affairs, University Housing, the Office of Sustainability and Student Affairs will promote safety awareness among students through a series of events that includes a neighborhood barbecue, safety workshops and discussions on personal safety on campus and in the community.

The Bell Tower looked more like a playground Friday as dozens of students broke out jump ropes and started jumping, just one of several activities held as part of the annual celebration known as Greek Week. The events bring fraternity and sorority members together for friendly competition and activities that benefit the community. And the students manage to have fun while doing it.
