Office of Institutional Research realigned with Academic Affairs
Starting Sept. 1, the Office of Institutional Research, including the Measurement and Research Center, will be relocated to Academic Affairs and Assessments. As part of this transition, Academic Affairs will be renamed Academic Programs, Assessment and Institutional Research.
The Office of Institutional Research is responsible for gathering data for academic assessment, which allows the university to provide better education, improve institutional effectiveness and raise Temple's rankings and reputation.
"In expanding the Office of Institutional Research's role in overall assessment activity, this reorganization connects assessment of institutional effectiveness with assessment of student learning and faculty activities," said Interim Provost Hai-Lung Dai. "Bringing IR under Academic Affairs and Assessment that also manages program review and accreditation will allow IR to create stronger ties across the Provost's portfolio and with the schools and colleges to help the groups better obtain and manage data for improving their academic mission."
