Share Passover with an international student

If you celebrate Passover and have not already decided with whom you will be spending those holidays, consider sharing dinner with an international student. Many new international students join our university each semester, and most of them cannot return home for the holidays. They have traveled great distances to join our community, and this would be one of their first opportunities to celebrate a holiday with an American family.

If you would like to host a student for the Passover Seder, the Peer International Educators of the Office of International Services will match international students with your family. Both students and host families will be notified promptly of an appropriate match so they can discuss plans for gathering and transportation arrangements.

Remember that the holidays in the United States provide an opportunity for sharing. Opening your hearts and homes to the international students of Temple can help them experience this great aspect of American culture.

Passover begins at sundown on Saturday, April 19.

If you are interested, please fill out the information form (.doc) and fax it to the Office of International Services at 215-204-6166, or e-mail it to oispeers@temple.edu by Friday, April 12.
