Warren named interim Alumni Relations AVP

Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement David Unruh is pleased to announce that Jim Warren will join Temple University as interim assistant vice president of Alumni Relations and interim executive director of the Temple University Alumni Association while the university conducts a national search for a permanent assistant vice president for alumni affairs to replace Deborah Fowlkes.

Warren brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education alumni relations and development operations to his role at Temple, including terms on the Duke University Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Long-Range Planning Team. Also at Duke, he served as President of the Alumni Association and was a member of the Board of Trustees. Between 2005 and 2006, he served as interim alumni director at Bucknell University.

Warren’s consulting firm, College Connections, Inc. (CCI), was established in 1992 with the credo that connected alumni will contribute their time, talents, and financial resources to their alma mater at a much higher rate than those who are not connected. Following this principle, CCI has helped clients such as Duke, Johns Hopkins, Bucknell, Clemson, UNC-Chapel Hill, Radford and the London School of Economics develop and implement successful programs and strategies in alumni relations, admissions and development.

Warren will work from 100 Sullivan Hall on Wednesdays and Thursdays; he will work remotely the balance of the week. Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Laura Gruen has been appointed to serve as manager of alumni relations personnel on days that Warren is out of the office. Please direct general inquiries to her at laura.gruen@temple.edu or 215-204-2167. Deborah Fowlkes will remain in her role at Temple until July 9.
