Temple names new vice president for student affairs

Dear members of the Temple community,

I am excited to share that following a national search, Jodi Bailey has been appointed vice president for student affairs at Temple University. Subject to final approval by the Board of Trustees, Jodi will begin in her new role on March 1, 2024.

Currently, Jodi is vice president of student development and community engagement at New Jersey City University (NJCU). In this role, she has oversight of all nonacademic wraparound student services and focuses on student success, retention and persistence through impactful initiatives.

Jodi joined NJCU in 2016 as the executive director of housing and residence life, and in 2018, she was promoted to associate vice president for student affairs. Prior to her positions at NJCU, Jodi held multiple roles at New York University between 2005 and 2016, including director of student affairs at Tisch School of the Arts. Jodi also serves on the executive advisory board for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and has received numerous awards for her service, professionalism and programming within the profession.

At both institutions, Jodi developed innovative programs, prioritized equity and inclusion, and focused her collaborative approach to achieve the best outcomes for students. She is a thoughtful and open-minded leader who has demonstrated genuine care for the student populations she has served over the course of her career. I invite you to learn more about Jodi

I want to express my thanks and appreciation to the search committee for their dedication to this important work. Given Jodi’s vision and experience, I am certain she will have a strong positive impact in the Division of Student Affairs and our larger university community.

Please join me in welcoming Jodi to Temple.

Sincerely,
