CNBC

In a CNBC.com op-ed, Temple economist William Dunkelberg criticized the lack of lack of ideological diversity among the governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System. "Six of the seven governors of the Federal Reserve System have been picked by President Obama, raising questions about the true diversity of views that will be presented at Board and Federal Open Market Committee meetings," wrote Dunkelberg. "It wasn't supposed to work that way. Governors were given 14 year terms to insulate them from 'politics.'"

Afro-Germans are building a sense of identity. The Nazis sent 25,000 Germans of African descent to concentration camps. After the war, some African-American soldiers married German nationals. Many blacks from African nations were invited after the war to study at German schools, and some stayed and got married, said Andy Waskie, an historian and Temple professor who teaches German. "It's not the melting pot that we have," said Waskie. "But Germany is more open now, and accepting."

"If candidates aren't going to educate the public before November, then it is imperative that voters start to educate themselves and leave Governor Romney and President Obama to fight in the sandbox."
