Many people tend to eat more when they are stressed or upset. Often times so-called 'emotional eating' can lead to weight gain. That's why Temple is continuing its study on how to best help people overcome emotional eating. One technique includes having participants write down everything they eat, and their emotions at the time, in a food journal. "A lot of people do say that once they write it down, they start to see patterns that they didn't notice were there before," said Edie Goldbacher, the study's leader.
