Changes to Harvard libraries have deeper meaning

Harvard University revealed its long-awaited plan for restructuring its library system that will likely include consolidating many services. Many Harvard librarians said they felt left out of the loop, and some said cuts could hurt the library. According to Steven Bell, associate university librarian at Temple, “The restructuring may not diminish the strength of the collections or services, but there is a strong emotional connection to what these academic libraries mean.”
