Little-known group of women led to development of first supercomputer
Sixty five years ago today, the first newspaper accounts of the Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer (ENIAC) hit newsstands. Technically Philly listed "10 things about the ENIAC you really ought to know." At number 10: A group of female "computers" was instrumental in the ENIAC's foundation and a documentary — "Top Secret Rosies" directed by Temple professor LeAnn Erickson — focuses on their role in the broader World War II fight. "It's a story of history and people and their stories that might be lost otherwise."
