A class at Temple University has drawn criticism from the mayor in Hazleton, Pa, a town more than 2 hours away. Terry Halbert, who directs Temple’s core curriculum, said that the course, "War in Hazleton: Main Street meets the Global Village" deals with U.S. immigration and globalization. "We intend for the students to grapple with one of the most complex issues facing our nation today, and they use Hazleton in the class as a jumping off point."
