Menthol cigarettes targeted toward African Americans

The Food and Drug Administration is considering a ban on menthol cigarettes. The minty cigarettes are heavily marketed toward African Americans, and that can make quitting hard to do. Angelo Williams, a journalism student at Temple, has been trying to cut back on his cigarette habit by keeping an audio diary. "I just woke up, and my throat is killing me. It feels raw or something. I think it's because of the fact that I've been trying to compensate with Black and Milds while I'm quitting cigarettes. It was going to be my little, backup plan and it's not working out," Williams said in one entry.
