The recession has motivated many big law firms in the region to cut back dramatically on entry-level hiring. While landing a summer job used to virtually guarantee a full-time offer, that's also no longer the case. Melissa Lennon, assistant dean for career planning at Temple's Beasley School of Law, said some students are responding by looking atsmaller firms, federal agencies and state and federal judges. Some have been receptive to other markets such as Wilmington.
