Student athlete concussions get closer scrutiny

Concussions are no longer just a byproduct of sports as athletes are learning more about the lifelong effects of the injury. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association has attempted to educate its coaches on the topic. "I think it's even more important (in high school) for multiple reasons," said Ausim Azizi, chair of neurology at Temple. "In high school, the brain is still developing. Any damage that happens can alter the trajectory of growth."
