Temple partners to help reinvigorate North Philly Neighborhood

Since last winter, PhillyRising, Mayor Nutter’s effort to deliver a ray of hope to the city's most distressed neighborhoods, has done wonders for its first target: North Philadelphia's Hartranft neighborhood, a small but disproportionately violent area between 6th and 10th streets from Lehigh Avenue to York Street. As part of this effort, Temple's Office of Community Relations and Temple's Computer Recycling Center partnered with Hartranft Elementary School to create the new community computer lab, where Temple instructors will provide free classes in which adults can learn basic computing and word processing skills.
