Sean Yom, associate professor of political science at Temple, spoke with FPRI radio about his recent research trip to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Yom discusses the stability of Jordan a year and a half out from the so-called Arab Spring, and, more specifically, the stability of the institution of the monarchy and the staying power of the monarch himself. The institution of the monarch in Jordan is stable; however, the situation of the monarch himself is less so," said Yom. "The particular governing style of King Abdullah has alienated at good deal of the citizenry."
