Temple's Ambler Campus celebrates 100 years

Sunday kicked off Temple Ambler's 100th anniversary celebration. Founded in 1911 as the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women, the school was officially named the Ambler Campus of Temple University in 1961 and was recognized as Temple's 17th site in 2000. Throughout the past decade, it has grown to house a number of NCAA Division I sports teams and approved a number of bachelor's and master's programs. "We're very excited," Executive Director William Parshall said. "This highlights our very rich history in horticulture education for women and shows off our unique site."
