Temple's Schoell has impact on and off the softball field

On the softball field, Temple's Samantha Schoell is the perfect storm of skill, defense and sacrifice. Off the field, she got an up-close look at another kind of weather pattern — a tornado that tore through an airport in St. Louis where she and her Temple University teammates were waiting to board a flight home on Easter weekend, after sweeping a doubleheader. "We were told to go downstairs for safety reasons," she said. "The tornado hit Terminal C. Flagpoles were bent, metal signs were leveled to the ground....I never saw so much damage to metal structures that you think would hold up."
