In 1979, Nancy Henkin came to Temple with the goal of helping bridge the generation gap. Since then, through Temple's Intergenerational Center, Henkin has started dozens of programs linking generations together, and for those efforts, the Center has been awarded the first ever Eisner Prize for Intergenerational Excellence from the Eisner Foundation, headed by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner. "You know the saying 'We need a village to raise a child?' Well, I think we need a village to raise all the age groups, young and old, and different cultural groups," said Henkin. "Everyone has to be at the table."
