Computer scientist Jie Wu harnesses the power of wireless technology

Jie Wu, professor and chair of Computer & Information Sciences and director of the College of Science and Technology's Center for Networked Computing, focuses his research on the next generation of wireless technology.

"Our society depends more and more on wireless devices," said Wu. "The challenge is how to make use of these devices to assist human life and daily life."

Wu is currently working with collaborators in the School of Medicine and the College of Engineering to develop a wireless fetal heart rate monitor.
