The 20 Year Club welcomed its newest class of inductees on June 3, 2016, during the 64th annual Initiation and Recognition Reception.

This year, 48 Temple employees were honored for completing 20 years of continuous, full-time employment with the university, beginning between July 1, 1995 and June 30, 1996. An additional 135 employees celebrated a subsequent five-year anniversary of their induction into the club (such as their 25th or 30th). One employee, Carolyn Sterling, was recognized for 50 years of service. Sterling currently works in finance for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.

Doris Clowney, EDU ’94, ’97, celebrated her 46th year as a Temple employee. Clowney, who manages off campus programs and training, began working at the university in 1970 as a temporary employee. She quickly earned a full-time position and continued to grow with the institution. As an employee, she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Temple.

For Clowney, reaching the 45-year milestone hasn’t quite sunk in.

“I look up and it's now going on 46 years, and as luck would have it, I'm still here,” she said. “I enjoy coming to work. I enjoy helping people.”
