Philadanco brought its unique blend of African-American, ballet, jazz and modern dance to the Baptist Temple’s Lew Klein Hall on Friday, May 21.

Founded in 1970, The Philadelphia Dance Company, known as Philadanco, is a nonprofit, modern contemporary dance company recognized for its artistic integrity, technical skill, creativity and high-energy routines. As a permanent resident of the Kimmel Center and a cultural ambassador representing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Philadanco is one of the most popular dance companies in the U.S. Its mission is to increase appreciation of dance and bridge cultural barriers. To that end, the company performs nationally and internationally for audiences of all walks of life throughout the year. Its world-renowned faculty strives to empower its students to become leaders — in the world of dance and in the wider community.
