President Hart welcomes TUJ students, faculty back to classes

Classes resumed yesterday at Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), with a majority of students returning to the classroom for the first time since a March 11 earthquake and tsunami struck the northern region of Japan. TUJ's facilities, which were inspected and declared safe, remained open throughout that period. In a video greeting posted yesterday, President Ann Weaver Hart welcomed students, faculty and staff back to class and reaffirmed Temple's steadfast commitment to Japan and the university's pioneering campus in Tokyo. President Hart will visit Japan for the TUJ graduation ceremony in June.
