Safety and efficacy of psych drugs for kids questioned
FDA to vote today on whether pharmacos can now market drugs to children and adolescents
On Tuesday, June 9, Ronald Brown, a foremost expert on the efficacy and safety of psychiatric medications for children and adolescents testified before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that strong concerns remain about the dearth of research on the subject. Brown, dean of the College of Health Professions and professor of public health, chaired the American Psychological Association’s panel work group on psychiatric medications for children and adolescents three years ago.
