Obama's message subtle, but powerful
(There is no link to this story)
President Obama addressed the nation on Monday night to make the case for the U.S. involvement in the Libyan conflict. While the message was a difficult one to deliver, David Farber, a professor of history at Temple, felt Obama's strategy was a good one. "Usually when presidents tell the American people that they're sending troops into harm's way, they tell it big — it's good versus evil. But President Obama talked about interest versus vital interest, about unilateralism versus multi-lateralism. That's a subtle message to get across, but he did a good job presenting it," he said.
