America's child obesity problem doesn't end in high school — college students are getting heavier as well. When the Fresh Grocer opened next to the university, Nicole Patience, a registered dietitian at Temple, felt students could use help shopping healthy on a limited budget. She shows how comparing food labels makes for better choices. When it comes to snacks, which is better regular or baked? Patience says it depends on the serving size: "If it's a small portion, think about what is going to satisfy you more," she said. Patience says building good eating habits in college is important for setting the stage for adulthood.
